The area “Elements of Architecture” is devoted to the essential fundamentals of buildings: floor, wall, ceiling, roof, door, window, balcony, corridor, stair ... and facade. The history and development of this supreme architectural discipline are communicated via twelve hand-picked exhibits.
This selection was chosen by the international star architect and Dean of the School of Architecture at Princeton University (New Jersey/USA), Alejandro Zaera-Polo. One of these twelve exhibits depicts an original-scale facade model of the "Museum of Cultures" in Basel/Switzerland.
This spectacular project was planned by Herzog & de Meuron and realised using specially manufactured three-dimensional facade elements supplied by AGROB BUCHTAL.
