The new ropeway of Merano 2000 connects the valley of the city of Merano with the nearby skiing region of Merano 2000. Already from the city the red cladding of the terminal at the summit is clearly visible and once arrived at the mountain station you have a beautiful view of the city creating this way a close bond between city and nature and offering a new perspective on the city of one’s daily life. This spatial connection is reflected in the architectural design of the ropeway especially because of the red volumes of the terminals communicating both with each other and the red cable car.
Integrated into the mountain station is a restaurant with a large sun terrace offering amazing views to the valley.
