Course Description The course provides an analysis of contemporary Croatian architecture, including how the enduring economic crisis is holding back the creative explosion. The focus is largely on the country's history, examining how the country's cultural expression was influenced by the political crises that followed the war. At the end of the course, one will have an overview of the recent developments in Croatian architecture. The path to achieve this will begin with a broad-based focus, before narrowing in on a few architectural practices and the designs, projects and buildings they have produced and those in the pipelines. A large number of pictures, technical drawings and an introductory text will form the basis for presenting the architectural language underlying Croatian creativity.
