Ortana Electronic Production Factory is establish in 1992 by two electronic engineers. It is a company which produces electronic panels for traffic signalisation and sells them to many countries over the world. It has been aimed to serve the best qualified high technological products to their customers from the very first day. They wanted a new building to increase the production capacity and in order to take a bigger share in the international market. They have a process scheme which require a continuous workflow and many cranes operating at the same time.
The building is designed to have one big production hall where many cranes operate and offices.
Office hall is placed all along the South facade and the production hall is placed adjacent to it having north, west and east facades taking daylight in through the policarbonate facades.
At this project it is aimed to take advantage of daylight in the best possible way to both production and office areas.
Entrance's facade designed with complete glass and it's ceiling height raised by removing upper floors from entrance. Also roof above the entrance has designed with glass .It intended to create a clean bright area and provide a strong inside-outside relationship.
The 3.500 m² office space is designed with the aim to achieve a prestigious and comfortable working environment where both the employees and the guests will feel good.
By placing the offices along the south facade which is the higher part of the land overlooking a wide horizon, a spacious work space with a deep perspective is achieved. Also each point at office area can see the production hall it provided an interactive relation between offices and production areas.
There's a 11 meter differences between building's two narrow facades and by using this elevation difference basement floor revealed and became a part of the production.
The big sunbreaker element placed on the transparent south facade for solar control is designed to have a high- tec look to reflect the hi-tec products which are produced inside the building. It's not only block the intense sunlight from south but also became an important architectural element. To prevent dimming effect to work areas, sunbreaker pushed 4 meters from building. Thus it created not only a visual depht but also an uncommon look to facade.
Inner courtyards have been created on each office floor to meet the need of fresh air of the employees throughout the day. Also balconies have been created behind the sunbreaker element. By this way, the movements in facade didn't affect the whole appearance and also it has been supplied visual privacy.
Roof lights are designed to take advantage of daylight in the production hall. Also it has been created light tunnels above the halls. At the top floor, a montage area has been designate beside the offices and by the upper light tunnels, very fine workmanship has been supported by natural daylight.
