K2S Architects focuses on high-quality building design, which results in sustainable environments. Furthermore, our interests lie in developing intelligent solutions in the field of adaptive reuse of buildings as well as innovative wooden architecture.
K2S Architects Ltd. was founded in Helsinki in 2001 by Kimmo Lintula (Helsinki, 1970), Niko Sirola (Tampere, 1971) and Mikko Summanen (Lappeenranta, 1971). All partners studied at Helsinki University of Technology and have also been teaching there. Currently, they are all professors at the School of Art, Design and Architecture of the Aalto University. The office has won multiple architecture competitions and awards the latest being Finnish steel prize 2016, Architizer A+ Award 2014 and Wienerberger Brick prize 2014.
