The World Architecture Festival 2022 has gone live in Lisbon. The largest international event dedicated to architecture, the festival includes a busy program of talks, conferences, and panel discussions, and, of course, the announcement of the winning projects in the various award categories, including those held as a part of the INSIDE World Festival, the parallel event dedicated to interior design. The theme of this year’s WAF is "Together". The three-day event (November 30 – December 2) in the Portuguese capital is an opportunity for architects and designers from around the world to discuss community architecture and public spaces. But it’s also the final moment of the competition, when the winners will be announced and all the shortlisted projects will be showcased.
Yesterday – Wednesday, November 30 – the first group of 20 winners was unveiled against the backdrop of the FIL Exhibition Centre, while today the remaining 21 of the 41 categories will be announced. In addition, 22 honorable mentions have been awarded so far. On the last day of the event – Friday, December 2 – the four overall prize winners from all the categories will be revealed: World Building of the Year, Future Project of the Year, Interior of the Year, and Landscape of the Year. The announcements will be made during the grand gala dinner and awards ceremony, along with awarding the special prizes.
