Wood and Marble Among Neoclassical and Contemporary Design Influences

Egger has participated in the project

A home with neoclassical elegance and a contemporary design that makes its materials and their elegance the key elements of its personality: references to wood, marble, and a delicate color palette of pink, beige, and gold accents are the protagonists of a new interior design project in the city of Iași, Romania, a short distance from the border with Moldova. The architect and interior designer behind the project is Bianca Orbocea, who selected Egger materials with a strong personality to achieve the natural and relaxing appearance requested by the clients.

The integration between a neoclassical esthetic and a contemporary look took center stage in the designer’s work of creating a home that matched the personality of the owners. A laminate with Scandinavian elegance, namely a light Rillington Oak with Kingsize planks, was chosen for the herringbone flooring that serves as a unifying element for the entire home. It is precisely this element that creates uniformity and cohesion in the rooms, acting as a uniting canvas for the surfaces and details of the house – like in the case of the bedroom, with tones and finishes that are also found in the switches and lights, for example – as well as dialoguing with the neoclassical-inspired moldings and cornices and entering in perfect conversation with the other materials of the furnishings. One case in point is the open-plan kitchen and its countertop, for which another Egger product – the white Levanto Marble, characterized by a discreet and elegant motif – was chosen.

The materials are therefore the heart of the project: their combination has resulted in an environment with a refined, timeless atmosphere, unifying both esthetic and functional needs in a contemporary residence.
