The evolution of hospitality has an increasingly technological aspect: the hotel sector has embraced innovation for some time, with the intent of improving service for clients and offering security and convenience of access, while also guaranteeing a constant monitoring of presences. The Le Méridien Visconti Rome hotel, of the Marriott brand, has embarked on such a path. After undergoing a restoration project a few years ago overseen by Ara Design, which curated the interior design, the hotel has now decided to modernize its access and security solutions with state-of-the-art dormakaba systems. This complete upgrade was finished in 2023.

This collaboration with the company, specialized in secure and sustainable access solutions, led to the installation of electronic locks, centralized control systems and readers to control access to common areas. Confidant electronic locks (with satin brass or satin chrome finishes, depending on the furnishing tones of the floors) were chosen to guarantee security of access to the rooms, thanks to an advanced encryption system. The electronic keys and mobiles facilitate access to the rooms, make check-in and check-out faster and more convenient, allowing the hotel to track access in real time. System 6000 provides similar benefits to the entire building, enabling integrated control with the management software of the Marriott chain. This means that the staff can monitor and manage all electronic locks from a centralized location, as well as analyze the data collected by the system in a summary report of recorded activity. Instant notifications are also sent through the Messenger collateral system in case of unauthorized access. Lastly, dormakaba’s RAC 5 and SR readers were installed to respectively monitor entrances to the elevators and common areas, both of which require authorization.

This technological step forward taken by Le Méridien Visconti Rome has allowed and will continue to allow guests to enjoy a stay between the past and the present, typical of the Roman capital, while at the same time safe and innovative.
