A short distance from Hasselt, a city whose name derives from the local word for hazelnut forest, is the small town of Steveoort. Set in a hilly area crossed by the River Meuse, a freestanding house has been built here with contemporary, vaguely brutalist looks that exerts a presence on the site with a design and materials marked by their strong personality. The home’s clean lines and solid, square shape create an image that’s both minimalist and striking. And the details also reflect its style, beginning with the front gate to the property, which continues the essential look of the home. What stands out most is the black of the gate’s vital, clean design, underscoring its role as an organic extension of the house. Supplied by Wiśniowski, the gate is the sliding AW.10.200 model. Its installation responded to the need to protect the private space as part of a design approach that started from the outside and moved in to ensure the privacy of the occupants. The Wisniowski product took on the role of protecting the property and, while imposing in size, is an unobtrusive part of the whole. In fact, it harmonizes with both the home, its site, and the surrounding area.
Wiśniowski chose its closed AW.10.200 sliding panel gate to clearly demarcate the exterior from the interior. The Home Inclusive version was installed, which features closed profiles and no spaces between the 19 3/4” (500 mm) metal panels. Equipped with automation components and latest-generation accessories, the model combines Wisniowski quality with high customizability to suit customer needs.
