THEATRO, Thema's latest exhibition space

THEATRO, Thema's latest exhibition space
By Editorial Staff -

On 26 January 2017, Thema's latest exhibition space, Theatro, was inaugurated in a stunning event that unveiled to those present a new, direct way of using such a "stage" to foreground the latest technology and innovation in building envelopes. Working with its partner Schüco Italia, Thema sensed the need for a new, revolutionary approach to presenting products and solutions to architects and others involved in designing and creating buildings. The company's exploration led to the development of a physical space that is like a homage to creativity and innovation. It is a place to share and compare ideas, a theatre of culture and technology, a setting for passing on technological developments and ideas, a laboratory for testing, trialing and personalizing conceptions, and an exhibition that you can touch and learn from.
The notion of a passive display area was thrown out of the window to be replaced by a workshop approach, where Thema experts are on hand to help analyze design requirements, examine potential solutions, find concrete options in the product range, catalogues and color posters, and touch the 1:1 scale mock-ups.
Theatro also provides space for other partners linked to the core business of Thema and Schüco Italia who share the desire for excellence, social innovation and constant research of these two companies in their drive for ever higher standards in homes and the workplace.
Three designers were involved in the creation of Theatro: architect Marco Castelletti, L22 and FUD (the latter two are both part of the Lombardini22 group).  The architect oversaw the envelope design and works management, L22 was responsible for the concept and internal space arrangement and FUD, an expert in physical branding and communication design, helped Thema right from the outset, identifying the purpose and essence of the space.
