Announced in Cannes at the awards evening for the best real estate projects, the winning entries in the 2023 MIPIM Awards are from China, France, Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Gabon. The jury selected the twelve prizes from 43 finalist projects, either completed or nearing completion, from 22 different countries, regarded as the most useful, sustainable, and visionary. Rather than the traditional judging criteria, this year the jury assessed the entries according to sustainability, integration of the project in its environment and community, quality of the user experience, economic contribution, concept originality, and architectural quality.
"The judges were highly impressed by the significant strides made in sustainability across the majority of the projects presented at one of the world’s most prestigious real estate competitions. With so many outstanding entries, selecting only 12 winners proved to be a challenging task for the judges of MIPIM Awards." - François Trausch, MIPIM Awards Jury Chairman, Chief executive officer & Chief investment officer PIMCO Prime real estate.
The special jury prize this year went to Morland Mixitè Capitale in Paris, designed by CALQ Architecture and David Chipperfield Architect, which also won the Best Mixed-Use category. The developer was EMERIGE.
