The finalist projects in THE PLAN Award 2022 have been selected to compete for the prizes in their respective categories. Chosen by the jury from the over 700 entries shortlisted from 1200 entries from around the world, these projects have therefore advanced through to the final stage of the competition. The names of the winners and special mentions will be revealed during the closing ceremony, to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at the Fondazione Riccardo Catella in Milan. The event will also be streamed live.
There are 20 categories of THE PLAN Award, an international award that recognizes excellence in architecture, interior design, and urban planning, now being held for the eighth time. Each category is then divided into two sections: Completed, for completed projects, and Future, for those to be built in the near future. Finally, there is also the Community Wish List Special Prize, an award that is given by the public, who helps in sharing and disseminate the Shortlisted projects of THE PLAN Award.
The winning projects and those receiving a special mention will be decided by THE PLAN Award jury, composed of professionals and academics from the world of architecture and design: Yehuda Safran (Pratt Institute, School of Architecture), Huang Wenjing (Tsinghua University), Michael Webb (author of 25 books about architecture and design), Li Xiangning (College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University), Patricia Santos Pedrosa (Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies), Valerio Paolo Mosco (architect and architecture critic), Elena Tomasi (FPMC – Fine Properties Monte Carlo), Raymund Ryan (Heinz Architectural Center, Carnegie Museum of Art), and Diane Gray (L(H)B and Roca Gallery).
