Manufactured products created to the highest standards, craftsmanship, and a celebration of the Made in Italy label, the 61st Salone del Mobile, and the parallel Milano Design Week, are well-established events of international importance – places for meeting, the crosspollination of ideas, and opportunities to get to know the latest in design and interiors.
Here’s our wrap-up of the most important new products on show at the events.
For people who want to live in both their home and garden throughout the year, Atmosphera has created a number of new collections under its brand Capital Collection. Some of these new lines stand out for their timeless beauty and artisanal-like quality, including the Cloud sofa, the Suite bed (design by Boatto Martino Studio), the Pipe collection of chairs (design by BGR Studio), the Loto modular sofa, the Panarea coffee tables (made entirely of ceramic), and the Pantagruel table.
Much more than a way to divide rooms, the doors created by Barausse in collaboration with De Castelli are showpieces. Metalsphere celebrates the magic and mystery of what just might be hidden behind a door, with products created from embracing different influences and investigating the potential of materials.
Caccaro has done away with partitions with its No Wall House concept. Walls disappear in the name of fluid living so that rooms become multifunctional spaces. The Sistema Freedhome® range of double-sided wall systems, storage walls, and wall paneling has now evolved to dialogue with the new Sistema Architype™, with new possibilities for defining furnishings from an architectural perspective.
Designed for Bross by Monica Armani, Aretha stands out for its natural materials, comfortable padding, soft lines, and enveloping shapes. The collection includes a chair, a dining armchair, a comfortable lounge in two versions, a stool, dining tables, bistro tables, and coffee tables, all of which feature the same soft curves.
Thanks to the concept with which it was developed and to the perpetual oscillation movement of the body induced by the seat, Moon, by Serena Papait for Quadrifoglio Group, is designed to distribute the weight in the least sensitive points, in particular on the knees, without weighing down the vertebral column. Moon is not just a chair designed for ergonomics and postural well-being, but also a piece of furniture with a refined and dynamic style suitable for any environment, from the home office to professional spaces.
For Calligaris, the 61st Salone was a chance to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The company marked the event by launching many new products. Among them, Adel was a particular standout, a chair in two versions that celebrates the company’s DNA. Orbital is a restyling of the extendable table designed by Pininfarina.
Ditre Italia, part of the Calligaris Group, paid tribute to the Made in Italy label with products stemming from its consolidated know-how and history of craftsmanship. Highlights included Crossline (designer Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri), a symmetrical “organism” of sofas and coffee tables; Avenue (designer Stefano Spessotto), a comfortable sofa with a high seat; and the Arcade table (designer Monica Armani), which draws its inspiration from architectural elements such as pillars, arches, vaults, and passageways.
Cimento’s focus on materials was reflected in its booth design, which was inspired by the natural colors of the earth. Designed by Elisa Ossino, Ducale is a family of furnishings made up of designer bookcases, consoles, and coffee tables. They combine with the stereometric shapes of the Accademia tables, designed by Studio63 as a tribute to radical design.
The new offerings from Alf DaFrè reflect the idea of contemporary, light, and stylish living that distinguishes the Venetian company, combining the natural textures of wood with tone-on-tone colors and touches of pastel shades in its fabrics and accessories. Many of its products were created in collaboration with designers such as Enrico Cesana, Gordon Guillaumier, and Bruna Vaccher.
With products that combine prestige quality and technological innovation, Désirée reaffirmed its credentials as a manufacturer of exceptional upholstered furniture with Ciàcola, a chair and table designed by Tobia Scarpa; the Sheridan sofa and the Eben armchair, designed by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez; the Tè chair, designed by Setsu & Shinobu Ito; and a seating system designed by longtime collaborator Marc Sadler.
Glass takes centerstage in the collections from Fiam Italia, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary with designer pieces that explore every expression of this material. Examples are Silica, a collection of mirrors that fragment light, designed by Aric Levy; the Marry Me lamp, a declaration of love between glass and light created by Davide Oppizzi; the Remind floor-to-ceiling modular bookcase, designed by Simone Bonanni; the Flaminio table, a tribute to entertaining designed by Studio Klass; the Shift mirrors, designed by Francesca Lanzavecchia; and the timeless beauty of Cristaline tables and consoles, designed by Marcel Wanders Studio.
Smart, sophisticated technology that can’t be seen, Invisible, Jung’s latest advance in smart home systems, was showcased in a pop-up installation at Fuorisalone.
Midj featured two new products created in its research and development department: Planum, designed by Studio Pastina, is a table which, recalling the Latin meaning of the word, has simple, essential lines; Civitas, designed by Giulio Iacchetti, is a bookcase inspired by the metaphor of a city growing in an orderly manner, just like the modules that make up the system.
A family of tables, consoles, lamps, and sophisticated cabinets created using quality materials, the Alla Sera collection from Paolo Castelli Spa evokes twilight atmospheres and romantic landscapes. As do the Grieta table, with its clean and essential design; the Babou lounge chair, inspired by the surrealist art of Dalí; and the Origami lamp, which both illuminates and conjures up the atmosphere of distant lands.
Potocco drew its inspiration from a delicate palette of Mediterranean shades for its new 2023 products. For interiors, it showcased its Shape coffee tables, the Jade modular sofa system (designer Hanne Willmann), and the Minima chair (designer Mario Ferrarini). The firm has also expanded some of its best-selling collections, with the Concha lounge chair, designed by Stephan Veit, and the Hiru stools, in two heights, designed by Mario Ferrarini. Among Potocco’s new offerings for outdoors, the Graphic series is a standout. Designed by Victor Vasilev and Mario Ferrarini, it includes tables, benches, desks, and coffee tables.
Segis has added a new series with a strong graphic character to its catalog. Dubbed Carell, the collection includes armchairs, designed by Alejandro Valdés, that combine design and functionality in a clear linear identity.
With its Polyhedric collection, situér milano has transformed everyday objects – chests of drawers, seats, shelving, candlesticks, vases – into daring, original pieces with an innovative folded design.
The result of an encounter between Takeda Katsuya Design and Tatehiko, the Brace collection was previewed at the exhibition. Comprising highly configurable side tables, coffee tables, and wall units, the collection features a lightweight structure and diagonal lines.
Flou and Natevo showcased new products with soft, organic shapes combined with colors and textures from nature. They include the Madame Butterfly (designer The Touch Studio), Gaudí (designer Matteo Nunziati), and Pierre (designer Studio Contromano) collections. Other new releases include the Baia bed (designer Emanuela Garbin), the Lucky table (designer Luigi Lanzi), the Chiaro di Luna bedside table and lamp (designer Ilenia Viscardi), the Alba table lamp (designer Ilenia Viscardi), and the Staar floor lamp (designer Stefano Bigi).
Visionnaire presented Volare, not just a collection but an integrated architecture and interior design project in which creativity is set free to fly high on the wings of the imagination. The furniture collection is for every room of the house in celebration of Visionnaire’s philosophy of experiencing the home like a temple.

Outdoor spaces have become an extension of the home, establishing a continuity with it with pergolas and innovative furnishings.
Woven fabrics are the distinctive feature of Emma Cross from Varaschin, a collection that expands the Emma series, designed by Monica Armani. Airy designs with enveloping shapes, the range features elegant colors to decorate any outdoor space.
Fermob, which specializes in colorful and fun metal outdoor furniture, showcased six new products. They included the Ulli portable lamp and the Luxembourg table, an ideal combination for working in the garden. The exhibition also saw the exclusive launch of four new indoor chairs from the firm.
Carrera is a new bioclimatic pergola from Pratic, comprising a roof with alternating fixed and moving louvers designed to lift and overlap to create extraordinary shading effects.
The Secret Garden was the installation presented by Bene, a company specializing in contemporary workplaces and modern lifestyles, which launched for the first time an outdoor collection. The installation combined a contemplative atmosphere with artistic elements and comfort.
Outdoor furniture is the focus of Talenti, which was at the event with the world debut of the Tressé Collection (designer Carlo Colombo) and the Venice Collection (designer Ludovica+Roberto Palomba). Other new products and re-editions included the Tikal Collection (designer Nicola de Pellegrini), the Leaf Soft Collection (designer Marco Acerbis), and timeless icons the Salinas Collection and the George Collection (designer Ludovica+Roberto Palomba), and the Allure Collection (designer Christophe Pillet).
For designing the outdoors, KE featured an innovative aluminum pergola with a flat roof and retractable canvas shading. Keplan breaks the mold of the sloping roof pergola with a design geometry that adapts to any outdoor setting.
Zambaiti Parati developed its Atelis wallpaper with the Metrogramma and AMDL Circle studios, overhauling its product range for interiors. It includes two collections in rice starch and natural pure linen, conceived as handcrafted wall paneling.
Radici has opened its doors to the inspiration and vision of design, fashion, and architecture creatives, releasing a textile flooring range designed by Chiara Andreatti, Arthur Arbesser, and DWA. It features kaleidoscopic patterns, such as Traffic and Kink, and combined interplays of contrasting shades and designs, such as Tartan Doodles and Sponge.
The wallpapers designed by Vito Vesta for Misha imagine an exotic Italy viewed through the eyes of a foreigner. Nuova Pompei reinterprets grotesque motifs, inlaid geometries, and mosaics that recall the splendor of Ancient Rome.
Giovanardi, a firm with a keen focus on caring for the environment, has released fabrics in Raytent yarn, the first mass-dyed recycled acrylic yarn recovered from new materials discarded during industrial processing. There are two new collections designed for outdoors: Raytent Drapery and Raytent Living.
Aimed at bringing out the best of every indoor surface, Instabilelab presented its new Remember Me and Carpetia Royal ranges. Remember Me is a wallpaper with graphic designs in which nature, geometry, and color blend together to create something quite unique, while Carpetia Royal is a collection of rugs and carpets inspired by luxury design, with a strong graphic impact.
Illulian was at Salone with an exclusive selection of hand-made luxury rugs, custom made using the finest silks and fibers. With a rich selection of shapes and colors offered, the rugs are divided into four collections: Design Collection, inspired by the natural world and dreamlike visions; Limited Edition, the most exclusive range, with rugs created by leading designers; Essential Collection, characterized by soft shades; and Palace Collection, inspired by the opulence of 18th-century royal courts.
The company’s ongoing experimentation and research, along with collaboration with architect Fabio Rotella, has led BenettiHome to develop Konny Velvet, a sculptural project that can be used as an installation, a single artwork, or a modular surface finish. Each module depicts a bunny from a numbered series on display in the virtual art galleries of the metaverse as NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
Caimi has expanded its range of sound-absorbing designer creations for acoustic comfort. The most important new product on show at Salone was Snowsound Fiber 12, a sound-absorbing fabric that, for the first time, uses Econyl® yarn, produced with nylon waste from around the world. Another innovation is Lucrezio, a system of sound-absorbing tables available in round or oval versions, and Integral, a versatile panel with a hemispherical shape.
L’Opificio has also extended its range of fabrics with the Les Intrigues collection, designed by architect Bruno Tarsia. Suitable for decoration and upholstered furniture, they are characterized by fluid geometries combined with original colors and contrasting shades.

The bathroom continues to be a focal point of interior design, with the room increasingly resembling a home spa that offers all the comforts of a wellness center in the intimate setting of the home.
Effe is investigating this trend with two recent products: the Alladin sauna, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni with Michele Angelini, and the Natural modular cabin, available in sauna, hammam, and infrared versions, designed by Marco Williams Fagioli.
The private spas offered by Gessi recall the elegance of high fashion. The firm showcased two new collections at the event, Perle and Jaqueline, both of which are elegant and recall natural elements.
Integrating all the functions of the bathroom in one, Abaco from Ceadesign is a modular system that brings everything together in a single unit made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel.
Cosentino Group took part in Milano Design Week 2023 with Metamorphic, a project developed with British designer Tom Dixon and his Design Research Studio team. An interpretation of the bathroom made almost entirely with Dekton® stone, the installation explored the material’s versatility, sustainability, and strength to offer a vision of the bathroom as a focal point of interior architecture.
The product offerings of antoniolupi continue to expand. The company, a leader in the bathroom sector, presented a collection of furnishings designed for every room in the house with its atelier_antoniolupi project, which features innovative materials and a decisive style to create a mood and an identity that extends throughout the entire living area.
Salvatori’s products set future trends in surfaces, bathrooms, furnishings, and objects made of natural stone. The products presented at the event included the new Hito collection, designed by Piero Lissoni to create highly customizable bathrooms, and two new marble wall coverings: Passepartout, designed by Salvatori Design Centre, and Patchwork, also designed by Piero Lissoni. The manufacturer has introduced timber wall paneling for the first time with its Wood Collection, which has reinvented some of its most iconic surfaces: Bamboo, Plissé, Spaghetti, and Tratti.
Natural stone played a leading role at the exhibition in the form of finishes and furnishings made of marble and travertine, designed to make every space unique and sophisticated.
Roman travertine is the featured material of the New Classic line, the latest from Pastorelli – Gruppo Del Conca. This selection of surface finishes for indoors and outdoors is also available in large sizes, which further add to the beauty and charm of natural stone.
Velata is Margraf’s latest offering: a table and seat in Bianco Covelano marble that resemble furniture draped by a marble mantle animated by folds and swirls. Also available is a collection of four marble drapes. Hung from the wall but apparently floating in the air, these are genuine works of art.
Marble also takes a leading role in the Chiglia collection from Marmo Arredo, part of the Scapin Group. First launched during Design Week 2022, the collection has grown with new pieces and new materials. Among them is the Chiglia table, the result of collaboration between Scapin Group and Stefano Boeri Interiors, available in three sizes and with the top in marble or Quartzforms® technical quartz.
Under the creative direction of Migliore+Servetto, Neutra has launched a new range marked by a timeless elegance. The company, specialized in processing marble and natural stone, has released the Daphne, Theia, and Meti collections of bathtubs, bathroom wall tiles, tables, coffee tables, and lamps, all designed by Studiopiva.
Alpi continues to demonstrate its expertise in working with timber in this year’s most important new products: the Arcobaleno and Raggiosole veneers. Both were created through collaboration between Vittorio Alpi and German designer Konstantin Grcic, who, with his deep knowledge of the material, developed these unique interpretations of timber.
Fiemme Tremila is a Trentino-based company specializing in biocompatible timber flooring, finishes, and furniture. The firm celebrated its 30th anniversary at Milano Design Week with its Segato process, which recreates the patterns typically left by old mill saws. The new range includes two varieties of oak: Fior di Volto, with dove gray nuances, and Fior di Tobià, with an antiqued effect. Finally, Solo is a furniture range comprising six timeless and durable furnishing pieces.
Still on the subject of timber, Finsa presented a panel discussion series entitled The Finsa Sense for Wood, transforming its showroom in Via Solferino into an oasis of relaxation, designed by 967arch, to host the series. The space featured vertical gardens created with a new green façade system that uses heat-treated VP Modulo Thermopine timber, created through collaboration between Verde Profilo and Savia by Finsa; Orixe modular outdoor furniture, designed by Stone Designs; and the Gradpanel Thermopine solar control system for façades made of heat-treated timber, the result of collaboration between Gradhermetic and Savia by Finsa.
A haiku is a Japanese poem that’s simple and direct. It served as the inspiration for Key Cucine’s Haiku collection, which places the island bench at the center of the kitchen as an element with a strong personality and clean, minimalist lines, created using combinations of new and elegant materials.
Stosa Cucine was at Milano Design Week with a number of new and original kitchen designs. Among them, Color Trend is the most versatile and easy to combine with other products. Alevè features a gray UV lacquer finish and combines with City in Liquorice Oak. Beverly has a more traditional style, while Karma is minimalist and balanced.

Eco-sustainability and care for the environment were the focus of the 2023 exhibition.
The latest offerings from Lema use eco-sustainable materials in contemporary designs. And there are a lot of them, all of which are highly customizable, including Cabina VentiTre (designer David Lopez Quincoces & Officinadesign Lema), a modular walk-in closet with low environmental impact; Soffio (designer Norm Architects), a family of seats made with recycled materials; and Lullaby (designer Palomba+Serafini), a bed with storage containers with gentle, harmonious shapes.
Wellness and sustainability are the keywords at Martex, the two concepts giving life to furnishings that are green by nature, like the new system called "Polis", and available in soft shades that instill serenity and recall nature.
Experimentation by Warli has led to the creation of the 1.0 table lamp and the Islas set of outdoor tables (designer Paolo Zani), both of which are made of recycled aluminum.
