Made Expo: what to see at Italy’s leading construction industry tradeshow
By Editorial Staff -

Made Expo is about to return, with almost everything set to go for Italy’s most important construction industry tradeshow, scheduled for November 15–18, 2023 at Fiera Milano, Rho.

With over 500 exhibiting companies and a program of more than 100 events, this four-day tradeshow dedicated to innovative and sustainable construction solutions will offer an exhaustive view of the industry supply chain as well as conferences, workshops, and exhibitions.

With product and service offerings growing increasingly specialized, this year’s expo has been divided in two, with one section dedicated to construction per se and the other to building envelopes. The objective of the event continues to be to give industry professionals a complete overview of the latest innovations for constructing buildings that tick all the boxes in terms of sustainability, comfort, energy efficiency, and digital and technological integration. And there will be a special focus on innovation and sustainability, which will represent a connecting thread running through the entire event.

Construction Exhibition and Envelope Exhibition

Dedicated to products and services for construction and renovation, the Construction Exhibition will focus on new software and technologies for design, from building information modeling (BIM) to Construction Chemicals, including construction systems for buildings and infrastructure, seismic solutions, and safety and construction site equipment. There will also be products for energy upgrades, thermal insulation, comfort, and interior design materials and finishes.

As part of the Construction Exhibition, the association Ingegneria Sismica Italiana (ISI) will be presenting Seismic Focus Area, a space dedicated to the seismic protection of buildings and infrastructure. It will include a program of technical and government sessions addressing seismic safety, new technologies, regulations, and future prospects.

With the aim of showcasing an increasingly specialized offering, for the first time ME will also host the eighth Light Building Festival (FEL), underscoring the central role of a sector that is increasingly looking at creating synergies with others areas of the building industry. Dedicated to professionals involved in paint and light construction, FEL will repeat its dynamic exhibition format, offering visitors an easy-to-navigate, direct experience, with areas dedicated to practical demonstrations, training, and workshops that will get professionals actively involved.

The Federbeton association will be showcasing the commitment of the cement and concrete supply chain to an increasingly sustainable future. Among the topics to be explored are the contribution of decarbonization to the industry, and innovative, dependable, and sustainable materials manufactured in Italy.

The Shell Exhibition will place a spotlight on products and services that combine the aesthetic values of architecture with energy efficiency and comfort in response to extreme climatic challenges, along with the latest construction and design needs. In others words, the event will feature doors, windows, façade and roof systems, components, and accessories.

A program of educational events organized by Italy’s steel promotion foundation will also be presented at the show, including a keynote address by architect Patricia Viel on innovative architectural solutions using steel.

MIBA – Milan International Building Alliance

ME-MADE expo

Made Expo is being staged as a part of the Milan International Building Alliance (MIBA), an event that aims to promote business opportunities for exhibitors and visitors. The Global Elevator Exhibition (GEE) will also take place in the same location, the first edition of an event dedicated to both horizontal and vertical transport.

Sponsored by the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, Made Expo 2023 is presented with the backing of a range of industry associations, including Assimpredil Ance, Assorestauro, Federbeton, Finco, Fondazione Promozione Acciaio, Unicmi, and Ingegneria Sismica Italiana (ISI), all of which will have dedicated areas at the event for talks and training sessions.

The entrance ticket to ME 2023 will allow visitors to see all three MIBA events, including the Global Elevator Exhibition (GEE), and the Security and Smart Building Expo, which are being held parallel to the show.
