In the wake of its successful 2017 series of meetings, DialogaRE staged a new series that began with an event held on July 4 at its premises on Via Melloni. The lead figures at the event, moderated by The Plan publisher Nicola Leonardi, were Lorenzo Pascucci, General Manager of MCD; Gianandrea Barreca, Founder of Barreca & La Varra; and Mauro Montagner, CEO and General Manager of Edizioni Property.
After Lorenzo Pascucci’s welcome address, Gianandrea Barreca explored trends in contemporary living, presenting the solutions that his practice has put forward in recent projects in which it has been involved. Mauro Montagner’s speech focused on differences in the values living spaces have been imbued with over the course of history, and how they are affected by location.
The speakers then debated how the real estate market is moving, the changes it has gone through and what needs to be done to follow and cater to new user needs. Debate on the economic principle of supply and demand, specifically how architects and designers approach market demand, led to interesting reflections on seeking out unexpressed demand: architects’ desire to intercept demand of which people are unaware, or which industry professional don’t consider, above and beyond work that already caters to clearly-stated briefs.
The meeting ended with a peek at the outlook for the industry, to help orient architectural style and living in the near and not-so-near future.
The 2018 edition of DialogaRE has been possible thanks to the support of MCD's partners: Ernestomeda, Lema, Florim, Flos, Fontanot, Lualdi, Gessi, Listone Giordano, Cesana, Bticino and Resstende.
