Cortina Design Weekend: A three-day event that’s not to be missed
By Editorial Staff -

The Cortina for Us association, together with THE PLAN, is presenting the first Cortina Design Weekend, scheduled for Friday 7 through Sunday 9 July 2023. Staged under the patronage of the Municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo, this three-day event offers a 360-degree view of the design sector. It’s aimed at industry professionals, design enthusiasts, as well as people who fancy spending a vacation in a location also known as the Queen of the Dolomites. With the event, the organizers hope to contribute to the cultural wealth of the Cortina area through a series of activities related to design, architecture, and landscape that will offer professionals a unique opportunity to network and promote their businesses.

The event, to open with a conference in Piazza Angelo Dibona at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 7, includes a program of roundtable sessions and panel discussions featuring prominent speakers from the architecture, real estate, and design sectors. Key topics include sustainability, craft industries, mobility, hospitality, cultural inclusiveness, and accessibility. But the design, automotive, and food and wine sectors will also come up for discussion. Curated by the partners of Cortina Design Weekend, themed installations will be set up along Corso Italia, while tours of Cortina d’Ampezzo’s craft workshops will also be available. A series of visits to the area will be organized focused on the local architecture and crafts industries, during which new design collections will be showcased.

Cortina Design Weekend 2023 is also offering an opportunity to get behind the wheel of an Audi, the main partner of Cortina d’Ampezzo, with the automaker offering vehicle test drives.

An exclusive location in the Belluno Dolomites, Cortina has been an exceptional tourist destination since the mid-1800s. And it’s always kept up with the times, but never at the expense of its identity or local traditions. The city will host the XXV Winter Olympic Games, also known as Milano Cortina 2026, 70 years after it hosted them in 1956. In the runup to this sporting event, which will further enhance the prestige of Cortina d’Ampezzo internationally, Cortina Design Weekend 2023 is an unmissable opportunity to spend a weekend immersed in the world of design while meeting leading industry players.
