The hottest trends for hotels, offices, residences, shops, and boats

Contract hall: the most exciting italian products at Cersaie 2021
By Redazione The Plan -

For the first time, Cersaie dedicated an entire hall to international turnkey furniture services. And it was a stroke of genius, with the most exciting contract furnishing solutions for hotels, offices, residences, shops, and boats offered by the most innovative Italian designers all in the one place. Occupying almost 108 thousand square feet (10,000 m2), the event showcased kitchens, interior and exterior finishes, lighting and home automation, outdoor design, and wellness technologies – all products that respond to the widespread desire of Italian and international professionals to deal directly with companies of excellence.

Here’s an exclusive look at the firms and trends to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Colombini Group: revolving walls and a 344 sq.ft. smart kitchen

In its exhibition space, the Colombini Group set up a fully fixtured and equipped 344 square foot (32 m2) studio apartment. What really struck me was the use of stylistic clues to guide guests from the kitchen, to the living room, to the sleeping area. Located in Contract Hall, dedicated to design and production in the B2B sector, the group dubbed its exhibition concept Studio Flat, the space bringing together the most innovative smart living solutions and the group’s distinctive look. Established in 1965 by the Colombini family in San Marino, the group is an Italian and European leader in the furniture sector, with its brands Rossana, Febal Casa, Colombini Casa, and Offic’è.

A highlight was the Modula Line kitchen system, distinguished by the linear, elegant design of its handle-free doors. Also of interest were the Momenti collection, with space-saving Click options incorporated into the Club bed, sofa, and hinged-door closet, and the Giorno collection, with its island bookcase, with a swivel TV wall and integrated home work station. The exhibition space also included products responding to hospitality trends such as coliving, short-term rentals, and senior living.

Aran World: from kitchen to furnishing accessories

From America to China, Canada, Panama, Turkey, Singapore, and Hong Kong, Aran Cucine has a reputation for fixturing some of the most prestigious homes in the world. The firm offers hundreds of kitchens, and just as many furnishing accessories for bedrooms and bathrooms. But seeing for myself the effect of the new Oasi kitchen, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti, gave me a special insight into its aesthetics and innovation. I was also struck by the Glix wardrobe and a new bathroom cabinet designed by Career Compasso d’Oro award winner Makio Hasuike. Both offer examples of an extraordinary attention to design and living comfort, as well as sustainability, one of the company’s core values.

The booth staff filled me in on two projects in New York. The first was 125 Greenwich Street, a residential skyscraper that the group is supplying with 273 kitchens, 453 bathrooms, and 923 closets. The second is 543 West 122nd Street, in the heart of Morningside Heights, a 33-level building with 183 apartments and extraordinary views of the Hudson River. The kitchens were fully custom designed, while the bathroom accessories were from the firm’s Bathroom Collection.
