This year’s Piranesi Prix de Rome lifetime achievement award went to Benedetta Tagliabue from Barcelona-based firm EMBT.
The Piranesi Prix de Rome was founded by the Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia Onlus, a non-profit research and teaching association that focuses on the conservation and restoration of cultural and archaeological heritage at the international level. This annual competition is aimed at universities and professionals involved in the restoration of heritage properties.
This year, the lifetime achievement award went to Benedetta Tagliabue, the Italian owner of Barcelona-based firm EMBT. Miralles Tagliabue EMBT is an internationally recognized architectural practice founded in 1994 by Enric Miralles (1955–2000) and Benedetta Tagliabue in Barcelona. The firm grew out of collaboration between the two that dated from 1992.
