Borgo Santandrea is a corner of the Amalfi Coast at Conca dei Marini where visitors discover the colors and fragrances of olive trees, lemons and the Mediterranean. This luxury resort is immersed in terraced gardens whose botanical history is lost in the mists of time. Skilled local artisans played a vital role in recovering the hotel’s 1960s structure overlooking the sea, heightened by unique pieces of furniture, from lighting fixtures to fabrics for the most part made exclusively for the resort.

With arches, scenic pathways, and staircases in shades of blue cadencing the entire façade, from the rooftop terrace to the private beach and pier, this hotel midway between Positano and Amalfi was conceived as a tribute to the typical atmosphere of a Mediterranean villa. Designed by Bonaventura Gambardella, the renovation has created a 45-room resort with sea-view rooms and suites, three restaurants, a bar, a fitness center and spa.

The venue’s relationship with nature is of vital importance, expressed both through how the architecture integrates into the surrounding landscape and the connection established between man and the environment. Custom-made Resstende horizontal sunscreens, combined with the clean, hi-tech design of Dallas 135 motorized systems were chosen to ensure comfortable enjoyment of outdoor spaces, even those most exposed to the sea breeze. The awnings on the building’s roof terrace, certain private balconies and around the swimming pool are equipped with Traction Kit, a forced traction device for effectively tensioning horizontal fabric, in this case Starscreen, which is water and stain repellent as well as fire retardant, recyclable and durably retains its color, featuring a filtering effect that modulates solar glare without diminishing the amount of light reaching the bedrooms. While offering protection from direct sunlight, the textile’s whiteness leaves the eye free to roam.
