To begin, we’ve chosen eight online architecture and design events that you can attend while sitting comfortably in front of your computer.

Environmental Life Cycle Assessment in Design

The American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA) has joined forces with the New Jersey Institute of Technology to present an international symposium dedicated to sustainability. In particular, the focus will be on Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA), a methodology for assessing the impact of every stage in the life-cycle of a product so as to minimize its negative effects. The symposium will take place from Tuesday, March 30 through Thursday, April 1.Follow the link below to book your place.

Fuorisalone Digital 2021

This year, Fuorisalone is moving online to promote design. Themed Forms of Living, the event will examine the spaces in which we live, how they’ll look in the future, the city and its relationships, and how all these things are changing at this moment in history. The event is scheduled for Monday, April 12 through Sunday, April 18.

5VIE D'N'A - Design 'n' Art for a Better World

From Monday, April 12 through Monday, April 19, non-profit cultural association 5VIE is presenting this hybrid design event, with both live and online participation options. The event will include the forum Tourism is Culture, which will look at the future of the sector, and the online exhibition GALLERIA, which will focus on excellence in design, art, and architecture.

EAAE Deans Summit

The European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) are holding a webinar on Thursday, April 22 and Friday, April 23 that will provide a platform to discuss a range of topics, including the current state of the architectural profession. Titled Change the Game – Take Responsibility – Cultivate Sustainability – Change the World, this year’s event will focus on issues such as climate change and the pandemic.

International Architecture Film Festival Barcelona

As well as taking place at Cinemes Girona in Barcelona, Spain, the festival is also going online from Tuesday, May 11 through Sunday, May 6. BARQ is Spain’s only film festival dedicated to architecture and interior design. This year, the focus will be on highly topical issues, such as the environment, territorial diversity, urban activism, politics, and so on. The festival is organized by Nihao Films with the support of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, Arquin-FAD, and the Catalonia Association of Architects (COAC).

NYCxDesign

From Thursday, May 13 through Tuesday, May 18, NYCxDesign is presenting Design Days, an event that will showcase the talent of New York’s design community. The event is being presented both online and outdoors, with small guided tours and gatherings. The topics to be covered include architecture and graphic, interior, and industrial design.

Aldo Rossi. Dalla caffettiera alla città

As part of 2021’s Biennale dello Spazio Pubblico exhibition in April, MAXXI is hosting an online workshop dedicated to architect Aldo Rossi and his work, with the title From Coffee Pot to City. One topic that will get special attention is geometric shapes and their reversibility, and how, thanks to this, it’s possible to design projects on any scale, from coffee pots to whole cities! The workshop is scheduled for 4:30–5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, on the WebEx platform. To participate, follow the link.

2021 TALL+URBAN INNOVATION conference

Scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 through Thursday, May 20, this online event will celebrate the very best in innovative tall buildings, construction practices, and urban spaces. It’s organized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and the Urban Innovation Conference. Various industry leaders will be taking part, including Zaha Hadid Architects, Bjarke Ingels Group, and UNStudio.
