The Parchitello Alta residential complex was part of a project to regenerate a 1990s complex, with 48 villas and 63 apartments. It is in the Bari province of southern Italy, in a large seaside park (140,000 sq.m). The design, by Giuseppe Furio, sought to add a contemporary sense to the existing structures - marked by rigorous, linear shapes - and achieve excellent energy sustainability and living comfort. Natural materials were favored, especially wood, stone and marble, often in combination with handcrafted finishings. The rational layout of the outdoor areas, with expanses of lawn, pools, pathways and common areas, is reflected in the minimalist, rigorous interiors. The decision to opt for Scrigno fitted in seamlessly with the essential nature of the spaces, perfectly reflecting the desire to bring life to rooms that are unique and personal, but also clearly part of the guiding architectural style for the complex. The doors in the traditional Gold and Essential lines, in sliding and hinged versions, merge into the rooms, picking up the wood and white of the paneling, floors and walls. The consequent formal continuity between the doors and walls adds to the architecture, highlighting the fluidity and uniformity of space and aesthetics. The units in the Parchitello Alta complex use architecture, the conception of space and the finishings to merge a harmonious connection between past and present, interior and exterior, and geometric patterns and nature. The result is a unique setting, where the living quality is truly on a human scale.
