LOTUS MEGA YACHT

The Lotus Mega Yacht, launched in Dubai, is designed to host large events and celebrations, with capacity for hundreds of people. In addition to the 11 spacious cabins, it has a 1,200 sq.m suite and numerous other areas including a disco, a restaurant, various salons and a cinema. The main deck has a large pool, while the other three decks have a spa bath for 10 people and five smaller jacuzzies, a wellness center with a sauna, steam rooms, changing rooms and a garage for the jet skis. Mapei’s excellent materials and on-site support meant it was chosen to provide the products needed to smooth and level the external metal substrates and internal flooring. Mapei Technical Services was present throughout to ensure the proposed products and solutions were perfectly applied. Mapei products were used to install the decking and the rubber flooring on the decks, the tiles in the swimming pool on the main deck and, in the interior, the kitchen coverings and the flooring in the cabin bathrooms. The approach was the same inside and outside, with Primer MF, Quartz 1.2 ME and Ultraplan Fiber Kit used in that order. The decking flooring was bonded in place with Keralastic T and the rubber flooring, with Adesilex G19. The pool tiles were glued with Adesilex P10, while for the inside tiles, Keraflex Maxi S1 was chosen. The choice of Mapei products guaranteed reliability and durability, essential features in a setting where excellent performance is vital despite the high temperatures, sun, salty air and constant footfall.
