Belluno || Italy
Located in the foothills of the Dolomiti Bellunesi national park, Belluno province, House 126 is a private home designed by Marco Casagrande. Sitting slightly above much of the surrounding landscape, the house has an expansive view of the town and mountains. The architecture exalts the interior-exterior dynamics through extensive glazing, while inside, the use of solids and voids, full-height spaces and intimate corners creates relations between different interior environments. The dominant white - contrasting with the black and wood furnishings and design elements - extends throughout the house, bringing a cozy elegance to interior comfort. The focus on energy efficiency finds its most concrete expression in the envelope (A4 energy certification), while the choice of automation is an indication of the desire to merge comfort and safety, integrating
the electricity and heating systems. The architect has been including automation in his designs for over 15 years and this time, he turned to Vimar’s By-me system, which uses cutting-edge technology that is simple to use to achieve energy efficiency, safety, comfort and control. All the devices and systems in the house can be controlled centrally and in the individual rooms using two 10” video touch screens in the entrance and living room. These can be used to regulate the lighting, temperature and comfort in each room. These two video touch screens also double as intercom receivers to monitor the entrance. The switches used in House 126 are from Vimar’s Eikon Evo range, in total white. The slim profiles of the cover plates, the simple, crisp lines and the color choice aid the perfect integration between technology and interior architecture, producing a harmonious, coherent whole. Success was very much down to the close cooperation between the architect and the company, which assisted throughout the project, bringing its expertise to the table every time it was needed.
