Fassa Bortolo has participated in the project
The Fassa Bortolo International Sustainable Architecture Award, designed and sponsored by Fassa Bortolo and Ferrara’s Faculty of Architecture, sprung from a determination to promote architecture mindful of the need to safeguard our planet for future generations yet able to meet present-day user requirements. The award therefore goes to projects that best implement the principles underpinning sustainability, a pivotal concern for the company Fassa Bortolo. 184 the number of entries to the 7th edition: of which 74 in the “Built Projects” section and 110 in the “Final Dissertation” category. Chaired by Prof. Thomas Herzog, the Jury was made up of Alexandros Tombazis, Juhani Pallasmaa, Nicola Marzot and Gianluca Minguzzi. The Gold Medal for the best entry in the “Built Projects” section was awarded to KACI International and Shigeru Ban Architects for their Haesley Nine Bridges Club House in Yeoju, South Korea. Silver Medals went to “Casa sulla Morella”, in Castelnovo di Sotto, Italy by Andrea Oliva, and “Soe Ker Tie House”, in Noh Bo, Thailand, by Tyin Tegnestue. Six special mentions were given to: The Wall House (Santiago, Chile) by FAR frohn&rojas; the Environmental Services Headquarters (Zaragoza, Spain) by Magén Arquitectos; the Professional Equestrian Centre, (Zenotz, Spain) by Francisco José Mangado Beloqui; the Roof of the Louvain Railway Station (Belgium) by Philippe Samyn and Partners architects and engineers; the Salam Centre Medical Staff Residential Complex (Soba, Sudan) by Tamassociati; and EBG - Garducho Organic Centre in Garducho (Mourão, Portugal), by Ventura Trindade architects.
