Essenza’s new hinged windows take the same concept used for the sliding versions to produce windows with maximised glazed areas - thanks to the hidden frames - on a single plane. To cater for differing design needs, this window line comes in both single and double versions, with the operable window also having a tilt option, as well as in a door version, with minimal bottom trim, that can also be either single or double, with the operable door once again having a tilt option. In the same vein as the sliding version, the sash is glued to two chamber glass. The largest option is 2.5 m2, weighing 140 kg. The frames have thermal breaks, with 24 mm bars, and have been designed to ensure compatibility with standard opening mechanisms and locksets for European double-pane systems. The hinges are also completely hidden to ensure the full-glazed effect. An innovative, GSG patented joint on the non-operable sash ensures perfect closure, while also minimising the front section. This ensures the frames and sashes align perfectly, leaving a full glazed window or door. Resistance to air, wind and water is based on a high performance open joint system: class C5 wind resistance, class 4 air permeability and E1200 water tightness (1,200 Pa).
