EMBRACING SPACE: ILLUMINATION FOR LARGE AREAS
By Editorial Staff -

A lighting project for large interior spaces, especially where high ceilings are involved, must include a range of lighting solutions that cater for the differing uses of such rooms or halls. BEGA pendant luminaire downlights are an excellent, multi-faceted option for such spaces, a technological merger of a simple, crisp design with three different lighting options in a single solution. The first part is an opal-glass cylinder housing LED modules, with varying power output and a color temperature of 3,000K or 4,000K. This section produces unshielded light that provides very comfortable vertical illuminance for the environment. The second part is an additional integral downlight to create an efficient wide beam and depth of lighting. This is obviously ideal where downward-directed lighting is required. The final part of this trilogy is an additional opening for ceiling lighting, perhaps to illuminate the ceiling or highlight an architectural feature that would otherwise be lost. These three options can be used together, in combination or individually to ensure the ideal lighting for almost any space. Additionally, turning on all three options at full power will light the whole space uniformly - a complex yet simple solution for a large room or hall. The individual lighting functions of the pendant luminaires are DALI controllable to guarantee just about any atmosphere one might desire. The pendant luminaires are also available as RGBW versions, adding the option of further enhancing the lighting experience with color accents for the uplighting or unshielded light. The lights come in different sizes to cater for various spaces, adding an element that exalts the architecture.
