At the International Mountain Summit for three days wood will be the absolute protagonist of the program. For the third time, the IMS Architecture Camp in Bressanone/ Brixen will host architects from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and from all over Italy.
In collaboration with IDM South Tyrol, department wood, a rich training program has been developed, including excursions for anyone who cares about "architecture & wood", noble, natural and infinitely renewable material, perfect for building in a modern and at the same time sustainable way. Probably there is no building material that with its features is as extraordinary as wood, also ensuring excellent seismic safety. In South Tyrol people have always had a particularly tight connection with wood as a source of life and work. The knowledge of this unique raw material and the respectful treatment of nature are part of South Tyrolean culture.
Meaning of the IMS Architecture Camp is to share this knowledge with architects, wood industry experts, carpenters and anyone interested in the theme of wood used for construction and architecture. Paolo Bertoni, head of the Ecosystem Wood of IDM South Tyrol, helped developing  the program and will talk about opportunities offered by wood, particularly larch, spruce and reclaim wood as part of a top discussion at the Helmhütte in Alta Pusteria. Similarly, as experts, the South Tyrol architect Ulla Hell, mountain expert Christian Tschurtschenthaler, Pircher Oberland chairman Günther Wisthaler, landscape guide Veronika Trojer and Claudia Koch of Holzforschung Austria are involved in the program with short speeches.
The program from 11th to 14th October in the framework of the International Mountain Summit includes visits to various facilities where this material is king as the particular Oberholz Hütte in Obereggen, known in the world of architecture as a small gem. Participants can also experience the entire wood cycle, exchange ideas with experts, attend a tree cut in the Baumdorf of Dobbiaco/Toblach. Of course the participants of the camp will also enjoy the evening program of the festival by attending presentations of photographer Paola Marcello, “fearless” model  Roberta Mancino, listen to the philosopher Florian Langenscheidt on his studies on happiness, meet the legend Peter Habeler who will tell of his 75 years in the mountains, feel the adventurer Michael Martin, and last but not least follow the story of German actor Samuel Koch, who  became famous for his tragic accident during the live TV show "Wetten dass ..." (German " We bet "). This program mix is unique in the world and is only possible thanks to the variety of the IMS mountain festival.
The IMS Architecture Camp Wood will unite for three intense days the passion for the mountains to the love for his/her own profession, to the desire of formation and updating. The IMS Architecture Camp Wood is presented and supported by IDM South Tyrol, Pircher, Rothoblaas, 3DWood, ProRamus, HOKU and Drei Zinnen Dolomites.
