FXFOWLE ARCHITECTS

Daniel Piselli

Daniel Piselli has over 18 years of experience in architecture and design. During his tenure at FXFOWLE, he has led design teams on educational, cultural, residential, and infrastructure projects. He combines an innovative and questioning perspective with a rigorous and methodical design process. Daniel is a lead investigator for NYSERDA funded project “Feasibility Study to Implement the Passivhaus Standard on Tall Residential Buildings.” He is currently on the design team for the new Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island. Conceived as an extension of the island's historic park, the building's angular forms and spaces are shaped to frame views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline, and to engage with the park's axial plan in response to its spectacular setting. Daniel is a member of the board of the Bird-Safe Glass Foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from University of Kentucky, where he was awarded several design prizes including the UK Larry McMahan Memorial Prize in 1995. He was also awarded a research fellowship by the UK Downtown Design Center where he oversaw urban planning and other design projects and participated in charrette planning and administration. Daniel is a registered architect in New York, and is a Certified Passive House Designer by the German Passivhaus Institute.
