THE PLAN 143 is the eighth and final issue for 2022. It covers a whole range of topics, spanning residential complexes, stadiums, theatres, homes, towers, and foundations. Opening with an editorial by Mónica Ponce de León entitled “Creating Culture,” the issue looks at projects by Steven Holl Architects, Mad Architects, and Mario Cucinella Architects; open-air theaters by Flanagan Lawrence; homes designed by AREA, atelier GRATIA, and Mino Caggiula Architects; and, finally, an unusual tower designed by Howeler Yoon.

This issue also looks at a home in Carantec, Brittany, designed by Odile Decq; Casa Patio by Mathias Klotz in Lo Curro, Chile; the Kendall Square at MIT – Site 5 project by Weiss/Manfredi, in Cambridge, United States; Villa E in Canobbio, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, designed by bergmeisterwolf; and the Golden Mountain Upper Cloister in Chengde, China, by Atelier Deshaus.

The October 2022 issue of the magazine opens with the editorial “Sensory Details: Our Ongoing Methodical Research” by Huang Wenjing. It’s followed by the Highlights and Viaggio in Italia columns, which focus on Escher GuneWardena Architecture and AMDL CIRCLE, respectively. The Design section is dedicated to the AHEC’s Forest Tales exhibition, held in June at the Triennale di Milano, and includes an interview with designer Ini Archibong. The featured projects include single residences and residential complexes, as well as the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The issue closes with an interview with Ben Van Berkel, founder of UNStudio, who looked after the design of Zumtobel Group’s Annual Artistic Report, Transform.

Along the way there’s also a monolithic design by Aires Mateus, a seemingly floating structure by Thomas Phifer and Partners, the transparency of UNStudio’s architecture, and the panoramic views of projects by WMR Arquitectos and WORKac. Finally, we look at the Armenian Church of San Sarkis designed by David Hotson.
