AVL Italia has moved to new headquarters at 112 Corso Ferrucci in Turin’s Cenisia district. Designed by architect Andrea Trebbi, the offices occupy an area of 1,900 sq. m on the third and fourth floors of the building’s north wing.
Founded in 1980, AVL Italia is a leading developer of mobility technologies, not only in the automotive industry but also in the rail, maritime, and energy sectors. The company works to deliver innovative solutions in areas such as electrification, software, artificial intelligence, and automation, actively contributing to more sustainable and safer mobility.
The interior design of the headquarters maximizes natural light, with extensive glazing, including glass partitions, creating seamless visual continuity throughout. Minimalism and functionality converge in spaces characterized by chromatic uniformity enriched with orange and blue accents, recalling the colors of the company logo. Vibrant orange structural elements adjacent to the building façade create a dynamic, modern contrast against the dark window frames.
Designed to be dynamic and modular, the office spaces cater to the different work needs of 130 operators. The design avoids traditional enclosed rooms, opting instead for multifunctional areas that easily adapt to meetings, individual work, and group activities, marking a progressive step toward a more flexible work environment. Modular furniture, including tables and seating, adds to this dynamism, with every workstation ergonomic.
Employee well-being has become a central element in modern office design. With the pandemic further fueling this shift, there is now also a focus on air quality and natural light, both essential ingredients for optimal workspace design. Reflecting today’s emphasis on innovative work environments, the offices are not only functional but also promote the physical and mental health of the users.
AVL Italia’s headquarters exemplifies how architectural innovation and workplace design can combine to create stimulating, healthy environments that respond to the needs of modern businesses and their staff.
