Caressed by the Pacific breeze and surrounded by the natural beauty of Puerto Escondido’s coastal inlets, this hotel designed by Productora with interiors by Bace Arquitectos captivates its guests. A stone’s throw from the golden sands of Punta Zicatela, Oaxaca’s famous surfing hotspot, the property offers guests a chance to fully immerse themselves in the essence of Mexican culture and nature, making it the ideal starting point for exploring the area.

Comprising two villas, eight guestrooms, and terraced volumes, Punta Nayaá was designed to meld with both the natural slope and greenery of its site. In its approach to this hospitality project, Productora set out to create a home-like atmosphere in many ways, making the place especially appealing to international tourists while also encouraging guests to discover the authentic soul of the area. Functionally, the hotel has two sections, with the hotel proper, with ground-level common areas and upstairs guestrooms, to the east, and the two villas to the west. Designed for groups of four and six people respectively, the villas have spacious rooms, terraces, sun decks, and private swimming pools.

The architecture of the building departs from conventional compact massing, forming instead a set of four stepped volumes set in the greenery. Composed of precast concrete elements, a lattice system covering the main façade does not obstruct the views from inside while enhancing ventilation in the guestrooms. The geometric patterns formed by the trellises, railings, and pergolas create interplays of light and invite the sea breeze inside, giving the complex an authentic and welcoming character. By contrast, the rear façade is wide open to the exterior, offering panoramic views from every angle from carefully positioned terraces and balconies.

Ogni appartamento è dotato di una piscina a sfioro privata.

Inside the hotel, the spaces occupy a series of platforms with varying heights, creating a dynamic journey of movement and discovery. Together with the lush vegetation and upholstered furniture, the cactus-green tones of the walls establish a fresh, relaxing atmosphere that is ideal for a rejuvenating stay. Throughout Punta Nayaá, each space is designed to encourage interaction between guests and a sense of exploration. The interiors burst with vibrant colors, natural materials, and handcrafted details that celebrate Mexican culture. Even the hotel name, inspired by the local-language world Nayaá – meaning “fresh and green” –, references the vibrant tones of the walls and trellises, finished with an artisanal plaster made from pulped prickly pear cactus. The doors, windows, pergolas, and carpentry are all Macuil, a tropical hardwood native to the region that’s prized for its durability and rich tone.

Outside, the infinity pool provides a serene retreat for relaxation and refreshment on hot summer days. Finally, the rooftop garden offers an open-air sanctuary with panoramic views of Oaxaca’s natural landscape.
