“The Bridge” Business Center in Milan is located in the beating heart of the city, surrounded by its foremost theaters, museums, international brands, multinational headquarters and financial companies.
This prestigious office complex is a symbol of business Milan, typified by a contemporaneity and functionality that appeals to leading companies. The wrap-around façade’s modern, minimal design meets the highest environmental efficiency and sustainability criteria: LEED Core and Shell level Gold certification, one of the highest attainable categories, are currently being approved for the envelope.
The Bridge is home to the new headquarters of AMCO, an Asset Management Company operating in the field of impaired credit management. Progetto CMR designed the 4,800-sq. m office interiors that occupy seven above-ground floors – the sixth dedicated to management, the seventh given over to a large terrace with views out over the entire city – plus basements for archiving, parking and technical equipment rooms.
The interior design accommodates the company’s needs, fosters employee flexibility and co-working, and offers both scalability and sustainability. Adopting an agile desk-sharing template, each level offers areas for co-working and meeting, including meeting rooms, lounges, break areas for informal meetings, focus rooms and phone booths.
The furnishings and finishes adopt a cool color palette of black, white and blue that dialogues with the soft surface textures and minimal, geometric textures on the wall coverings and furniture.
Both the interior and building design reach for high energy efficiency targets. The building uses renewable energy obtained from green suppliers; photovoltaic panels power the building’s common parts; and the heating and cooling systems are designed to the highest energy standards.
Moreover, because the complex is located in a part of town particularly well-served by public transport, employees benefit from sustainable mobility options. Bicycle stalls and charging stations are provided for electric cars in the underground parking lots.
Not only do all these provisions guarantee excellent energy performance, they ensure user well-being and comfort. The interior design is in line for a further two certifications, LEED Commercial Interior Gold level and Fitwell certification, confirming the design’s focus on the environment and employee well-being.
