Anna Torriani is a founding partner and design principal of APT Architecture. A strong advocate for design excellence in the public realm, her commitment to public service informs both her daily practice and her ongoing contributions to civic organizations. Holistic design and original solutions are a hallmark of Anna's contribution to the studio. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated expertise in envisioning a streamlined design informed by the cultural and historical context, the environment and client needs. Anna serves as co-chair of the AIANY’s public architecture committee and has played an active role in its “Conversation” series since 2006. Registered in New York State, she is a graduate of the ETH-Zürich, Switzerland and co-president of the recently formed ETH Alumni New York Chapter.
Lorenzo Pagnamenta is a founding partner and design principal of APT Architecture. Expert at the development of sophisticated design geometry, he also leads the sustainability, technology, quality control, and project direction aspects of the practice. The studio’s research initiatives are well informed by his multidisciplinary experience, resulting in holistic architecture that unites all components and advanced technologies to deliver harmonious spaces with an original vision. Lorenzo has lectured at the AIANY Center for Architecture, as well as internationally at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne for the Bibliothèque Information Suisse, and at the EXPA Architectural Gallery in Palermo, Italy. Previously, he served on the board of the Swiss Institute of Art in NYC and was involved in the art world as a painter. Registered in New York State, New Jersey and Connecticut, he is a graduate of the ETH-Zürich, Switzerland.
