Founded in 1996 by Swiss architects Matteo Fiorenzo Casali and Michela Casali, Studio Casali grows year by year through a careful work of analysis and elaboration to address multiple needs at once: 1) the attention for design, technique and environment; 2) the research for honest and responsible answers, mindful that the architecture modifies the landscape; 3) the satisfaction of its customer, who is involved in the creation and remains the ultimate judge of success. A crucial element of Studio Casali’s work is the search for solutions both sustainable and technically feasible, as every projects needs to combine beauty with specific needs and constraints. The portfolio of Studio Casali includes both residential and office buildings, as well as urban planning projects and interventions on existing buildings. An important chapter in the Studio’s history is the renovation of several ancient courtyards and precious Art Nouveau-style villas, part of the history and landscape of Canton Ticino, based on a thorough analysis of the original features to give the monument new energy and vitality while being mindful of its historical and architectural peculiarities. The strength of Studio Casali is its team. It combines the founders’ solid experience with the enthusiasm, the energy and the entrepreneurial spirit of its young architects.
