Founded in 2001, Barge Bouza Architecture consists of three architects Santiago Barge Ferreiros, Maria Belén Bouza Cora and Olalla Barge Ferreiros. They are all graduates of ETSA and UIC in Barcelona. They have won several international prizes, such as an Honourable Mention at the International Biennial Architecture Prize “Barbara Cappochin” 2013, FAD awards Architecture Prize 2013, the 3rd International Prize “Menhir” for European Union Architects 2003, and were selected in the international competition 44 young international architects. They were winner of several national awards: selected for the XI Biennial of Spanish Architecture and Planing 2011, 1st Prize COAG 2011 and Special Mention Obra Primeira Premios COAG 2004. Other awards worth pointing out are their 1st prize at a national competition for the building of the Cultural and Ethnographic Center of Mandeo river A Coruña 2011, 2nd prize at the national competition for the building of a 50 housing units in Covadonga, Ourense 2006; special mention at the national competition for the building of the Agora cultural centre in La Coruña and 3rd prize at the national competition for the building of an administrative building for IGUS in Las Lagoas, Ourense 2007.
