Enrique Hermoso and Karin Heimannsfeld have been working together since 1989 after installing themselves in Madrid following various years spent in Frankfurt and London working for architectural firms such as Richard Rogers and Zaha Hadid. In 2004, they founded Artytech2 | Hermoso & Heimannsfeld Arquitectos. Their work is focused on developments for public office, especially cultural buildings and sports complexes where their great skills are demonstrated. The buildings are generally marked by their representative character and functional complexity. They have also built and designed other unique works such as religious buildings, housing and restaurants or rehabilitation work for private clients seeking a more sophisticated product or simply higher value. Among their most representative works are the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, the Rafael Alberti Public Library of San Fernando de Henares, the public indoor swimming pool in Villanueva del Pardillo and the chapel for the Retamar School in Pozuelo.
