Arbau sees design as a practice involving numerous spheres that finds expression at every scale. Urban regeneration, building construction and interior design, exterior space organization and object design become the multiple elements of a single design concept. Marta Baretti and Sara Carbonera are the core of Arbau, assisted by a network of professionals and consultants that has formed, over time, into an extended group of urban planners, engineers, agronomists, artists, urban managers, photographers and architects. Nicola Pagnano, currently resident in Shanghai, is often a co-designer on Arbau projects. Arbau has competed successfully in numerous competitions, notably receiving awards for Piazza Barche - XXVII Ottobre in Mestre, Via Morandi-Paterlini in Reggio Emilia, the Rome seafront (presented at the IX Venice International Architecture Exhibition), Lake S. Croce in Alpago, Servola in Trieste and a residential complex in Montebelluna. Further acknowledgements include: mention in the Riabita 2006 competition, selection for the Veneto Regional Government’s first Piccinato Award (2004), participation in the cities forum at the Architecture Festival in Parma and the Segnali Urbani exhibition at Centro Candiani in Mestre.
