Tabanlioglu Architects was established by Murat Tabanlioglu in 1990. Arch. Melkan Gürsel Tabanlioglu joined the group in 1995. Based in Istanbul with branches in Ankara and Dubai, the office has more than 130 employees, operating mainly in Turkey, MENA and CIS Countries. Tabanlioglu has more then 50 years experience in architecture starting with Dr. Hayati Tabanlioglu, the highly regarded architect of Ataturk Culture Center, Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Ataköy Tourism Center and Galleria, and Turkey’s first shopping mall. Searching for new efficiencies in terms of global and environmental needs and developments, Tabanlioglu works comprise a wide range of building types and projects that have been awarded several international and national prizes; recent awards include International Architecture Award for Tripoli Congress Center in 2010 and for the Astana Arena in 2011; 2011 RIBA International Award for Loft Gardens; Bodrum International Airport is WAF 2012 Transport Category Winner and Astana Media Center is Cityscape Global 2012 Community&Culture Category Winner. Yenikapi Transfer Point and Archaeo Park Area project is the winner of Big Urban Projects at 2013 Mipim AR Future Project Awards. The firm’s project for ‘New National Stadium Japan International Design Competition’ was shortlisted in November 2012.
