Damilanstudio Architects is a multidisciplinary firm whose work is marked by an emphasis on the sensitivity of designs, contemporary culture, and the urban and natural environments. According to critic Brunetto De Battè, the firm’s work immediately broke links with the masters of the Piedmont region by focusing on two areas that, because of their contrasting compositional and spatial aspects, are almost polar opposites: the clarity and purity of stately homes on the one hand and, on the other, experimentation with forms in commercial and industrial buildings. Working in these two - sometimes dramatically - contrasting areas would not appear to undermine the architect’s work. In fact, they coexist, the one fuelling the other, bringing to the forefront the three keys to interpreting architecture suggested by Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi: the symbolic, the sculptural and the emotional. The firm’s most important projects include Iridium Doors Industry, Casa C, Coni Rovesci, B-House, Maison de la Lumiere, Casa D, Gazoline, and Oficina Vidre Negre and F5.
