Davide Macullo graduated from the Professional University of Art & Design, Lugano in 1989 and has been a member of the Swiss Register of Architects & Engineers since 1998.
He began his career in the atelier of Mario Botta in 1990 as project architect with responsibility for international projects (1990-2010). He opened his own studio in 2000. Awards include the A’Design Silver Award for Architecture and the Shenzhen Idea Tops nomination for commercial design, shortlist for the Exposynergy A Prize, the Spark Awards, the World Architecture Awards, Barcelona, WAN House of the Year, the Innovation and Excellence Award by Hise, Slovenia, the Prix d’Architecture de Languedoc-Roussillon, European Hotel Awards and Copper in Architecture Awards. He received the Tecu Award 2007, the DITEC award, the Luigi Cosenza Award, was named as one of the ‘world’s most exciting new architects’ by Wallpaper magazine.
He was invited to exhibit at the Hungarian Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2010 and featured on Case e Segreti and Case da Sogno for Sky Italia. He has lectured at the Architektursalon Munich, CAFA Beijing, Seoul National University, IUAV, Florence Kent University, the International Convention of Architecture, Budapest and the China Building Decoration Association.
