Benedetto Calcagno was born in Genoa in 1972, graduating in architecture in his home town in 1997. After an experience with Renzo Piano’s Genoa office, Benedetto joined Samyn and Partners in 1998. As a team member he has participated in projects such as the fire station in Houten and the Bruggmann Hospital in Brussels. As project manager he has been in charge of the Christian Dotremont offices in Nivelles, the EOLE light windmill mast and the Erasme metro station in Brussels.
Partner since 2002 he has been in charge of the project for the fire station in Enschede, the belgian pavillon of the Shanghai world exposition 2010, the high speed train station Vesuvio Est in Naples, the new offices Jean Monnet II for the European Commission in Luxembourg and he is in charge today of the building Residence Palace in Brussels, headquarters for the Council of the european Union. He is in charge for the office of the quality and environment certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and VALIDEO).
