Perugia’s “Del Sole” restaurant occupies premises in the old town beneath the medieval vaults of the Palazzo dello Studium, built out on a stretch of remaining Etruscan town-walls. To meet the requirements of this new restaurant user, the dining room and a large portion of the terrace, which look out over the Umbrian plain, have had sliding Domino walls fitted and a raised Elvfloor - both of them manufactured by Oddicini Industrie.
Domino is a highly versatile partition wall. Independent units slide along a runner in extruded aluminium fixed to the ceiling. Each unit is comprised of an aluminium profile holding a panel which could be of glass, melamine, laminate or wood. A range of options are possible with these walls: apart from standard units, one can insert standard or double doorways at any point on the line, and there are special corner units. Unit alignment is perfect; once closed, the wall has no cracks of any sort and no mechanical parts showing.
Elevfloor is a raised floor on a galvanized steel bearing structure onto which flooring panels (600x600 mm) are fitted. The different finishes are wood, ceramic tile, marble, stone or rubber. It is designed to go into any workplace and is especially suitable for refurbishing operations, since this way the cost of rewiring and plumbing is saved. Pipes and cables are passed through a cavity in the floor and are always inspectable and modifiable.
