The TRENCH armchair comes from the collaboration with arch. Laura Silvestrini, designer of Mamy, one of Piaval's most distinctive collections. Its name is not random, as it shares a detail of style with the iconic and timeless “must-have” coat: the belt softly laid at the waist. TRENCH is in fact characterized by a tubular element in curved wood that surrounds the backrest, almost as if to mark what in terms of tailoring is the "waistline". The project therefore assumes a particular aesthetic softness that makes precious a model with a very simple line. Like a skilled tailor, Laura Silvestrini drapes the upholstery in slight casual chic ripples, both on the front and back of the backrest, evoking the folds that the fabric of the timeless outerwear creates when it is tightened by the belt. The rear structure and the padding of the body itself have been modelled to match the fluid sign of the covering. The result is an elegant armchair with a welcoming shape, which winks to fashion but does not give up stability and comfort, essential characteristics of the models intended for contract. The ductility and resistance of solid wood, the undisputed protagonist and identifying feature of every Piaval collection, are enhanced by the careful workmanship of the structure and in particular of the rear legs of TRENCH. Slightly apart, they fit right into the "belt", with an essential and discreet sign that highlights even more the soft silhouette of the armchair. The competence and meticulous technological research, combined with a deep knowledge of the material, allow Piaval to achieve a result of the highest quality and functionality, perfectly suited to the needs of the hotel and restaurant sector. TRENCH can be customized in a wide range of finishes and the choice of upholstery ranges from fabric to soft leather, to suit the environments and projects in which it will be inserted. The structure is in solid ash or walnut wood.
