For the XXI Triennale International Exhibition in Milan, the Equipo Mazzanti architecture practice, in collaboration with Targetti, has an installation at Pirelli HangarBicocca that is part of Architecture as Art. Entitled “The Wall: from Static to Elastic”, it is open to the public until 12th September 2016.
It includes interactive walls in a long, narrow space that one climbs a few stairs to reach. As one walks through the installation, one gets to explore, firsthand, the role of design today.
Created by architect Giancarlo Mazzanti, it exalts light, shadow and sound to bring new sensory experiences to life. As such, the wall ceases to be a dividing element and becomes something to explore, a visual representation of what architecture and creativity can achieve. From the outside, the installation looks like a theater for shadow puppetry.
Targetti lights are essential in bringing the project to life providing - through illumination - shadow, movement and amazement.
Powerful recessed linear LED projectors (Jedi recessed) were selected, as these are ideal for lighting vertical surfaces. Available in three lengths (600, 900 and 1,200 mm), these lights are exceptionally flexible. Jedi devices can come with one of four patented optics: Grazing, Wall-Washer, Spot or Flood. The Jedi line comes with an integrated power supply, in standard or DALI versions, or, on request, DMX.
