The source of inspiration for Somero is the marble “Bleu de France”, which formed in the Jurassic Period. Its stony surface stands for elegance and durability. With Somero, Agrob Buchtal has succeeded in ceramically interpreting the striking look of this type of marble and in creating a tile series with an individual relation to nature.
The medium-grained structure as well as the expressive texture are characteristic of Somero. The porcelain stoneware tiles which can be laid both on the floor and the wall present themselves in classic modern design with a surface conveying the impression of stone. The colour spectrum comprises the range of marble also to be found in nature: grey, anthracite, mud-brown and beige. In conjunction with the great diversity of variation possibilities of the tile series, these modern colours with their natural look permit new harmonious designs in different areas of application again and again. Thus, Somero is convincing not only in living and entrance areas or in private bathrooms and kitchens but also in public buildings such as, for example, hotels, libraries or in sanitary facilities.
Four different formats which can be easily combined with each other or are an attractive eye-catcher if vertically laid on the wall offer additional creative freedom.
The extensive range of the new series is completed by a slip-resistant mosaic (category R10/B) in the classic format of 5x5 centimetres as well as corresponding stair tiles and skirtings.
The formats of 10x60, 15x60, 30x60 and 60x60 centimetres meet the requirements of slip-resistance category R10/A and have a slightly structured surface. The oblong format of 30x60 centimetres is offered in R9 with smooth surface in addition, so that the slip resistances not only can be specifically selected for the respective application but also can be used for setting design accents.
The Protecta upgrading durably baked onto the surface already at the factory offers a practical advantage day after day: it prevents the penetration of substances forming stains without any time-consuming subsequent impregnation.
