A feature of the French royal courts of yesteryear and a long-time icon of stately English manors, plaster panels are now a growing trend in Italian homes. And from homes to accommodation facilities and beyond, they’re suitable for many situations where the aim is to create an atmosphere that’s both elegant and chic. Stucchidea Iannini, a Rome-based company founded in 1963, represents the contemporary face of plasterwork, with its specialized production of decorative moldings, including friezes, shells, overdoors, rosettes, coffered panels, corbels, cornices, and panel moldings. This last category is the one attracting the greatest interest right now as a decorative addition to walls, or sections of walls, in living rooms, bedrooms, corridors, and home offices, as well as in the lobbies and rooms of hotels and resorts. Plaster wall panels create a warm, welcoming environment that’s also elegant, with designs that can be customized for architects and designers. They also bring to mind memories of the past and the origins of decorative plasterwork.

Lighting – nowadays, mainly LED – plays an important role in highlighting the sophistication of paneling, as well as other decorative moldings. Some of the most popular options include simple LEDs and cluster lights, both of which enhance a room and create a more comfortable, bright environment, while using less power.

Stucchidea Iannini’s decorative plasterwork is the product of craft processes steeped in history and tradition, which are respected but also updated. A team of skilled decorators and modelers do everything by hand. The result of painstaking aesthetic research, the moldings can be adapted to different settings without betraying their classic style, or giving up that eclecticism and imagination that fuel innovation.

And innovation and research, combined with experience and tradition, were behind the development of Plaster Out, a new material with a string of technical advantages. Strong and durable, Plaster Out is both impact resistant and, if used outdoors, weather resistant. It can also be produced lighter or heavier depending on the application, such as shelves and cornices, in the first case, and columns and bases, in the second. And any painting technique can be used to obtain the desired decorative effect.
