The new Oikos Venezia door is called Tekno. It is a joint project with designers Adriani & Rossi and offers outstanding technological performance and versatility. The main novelty with Tekno is that it hides away hinges so that it fits snugly into the wall, whether flush or with a surround. Tekno can be lined in all the finishes available for Evolution including a range of timbers, lacquers (including brushed and open-pore), glass, porcelain stoneware, eco-leather, steel, acrylic stone and mirror. The finish may also be in the new Legno Vivo line with 6 oak shades to choose from; there is a 15-year guarantee on lacquer finishes and 12 years on transparent varnishes. Tekno can come in a single panel or in segments and (like the Synua line) twin with a light side panel in safety glass that loses nothing in terms of safety. Tekno’s fire-resistance (EI90 certified) means it can be installed in all situations that have rigorous fire regulations to comply with; it can even make it unnecessary to resort to fire-doors in corridors and staircases. Among the Tekno performance standards are: class 3 burglar-proof, 43 dB noise insulation, U=1.6 thermal insulation (up to 0.92 if requested), draught-proofing as high as 4, waterproofing up to 5A, wind resistance up to C5.
