Savona: Natural stone look

Savona: Natural stone look

Agrob Buchtal has participated in the project

Various types of rock from the “Cinque Terre“, an approximately 12 kilometres long coastal strip of the Italian Riviera in the region of Liguria, were mixed up for the tile series Savona to create a new look. Limestones, granites and cement as basic materials complement one another with their coarse-grained texture and smooth layers to form a vivid ensemble. Thanks to the wide colour range in different slip resistances, the new floor tile series of Agrob Buchtal permits the realization of generous comprehensive concepts in diverse areas of application.

Savona combines the look of natural stone with timeless modernity: a varied but unobtrusive texture attractively runs through the surface, while incorporated glossy spots and the individually balanced haptics underline the stony character of the tile and lend it an appealing natural appearance.

The manufacturer realized the refinements in the design by a finely dosed granulate application. This lends the new tile series a pleasant stony look as well as haptics and underlines its naturalness by discreet mica-like glossy spots. The glaze mixture is sprayed onto the surface by a special technique and durably bonded to the tile body during the firing process. In addition, different slip resistances can be produced by this technique. In the case of Savona, these are the categories R10/A and R11/B, which are offered in all colours.

The new floor tile series of Agrob Buchtal offers a wide spectrum of colours and formats, which opens up variable and diverse application possibilities. They comprise both applications in the architectural ceramics sector, such as, for example, pool surrounds, wellness oases, sanitary rooms or hotels, and all areas in the residential ceramics sector, i.e. bathrooms, kitchens, halls, living-rooms and bedrooms. In addition, Savona is frost-resistant and thus also suitable for outdoor laying, so that harmonious transitions between interior and exterior areas can be attractively designed.
Savona is available in the colours lime, beige, brown, grey, anthracite and in the formats of 30x60 and 60x60 centimetres as R10/A and R11/B as well as, in addition, as mosaic with the dimensions of 5x5 centimetres in R11/B. Corresponding skirtings complete the range.
The exact in-plant calibration and the uniform edge formation facilitate the mixed laying of different formats. The design is not regularly ordered but - similar to its natural model - “creatively organic“. Further advantage: no predefined laying direction must be observed.

The new collection Savona is also provided with the HT (“Hydrophilic Tile“) coating already ex factory. This innovative solution is based on the effect of light and lends ceramic tiles revolutionary characteristics: they are extremely easy to clean, have an antibacterial effect without using chemical products and eliminate unwelcome odours as well as air pollutants. Thus, HT saves time and money and contributes to environmental protection thanks to the considerably reduced use of cleaning agents and disinfectants.
