Dubai’s art scene is known for its dynamism, attracting collectors, curators, and enthusiasts from around the world. One of the latest additions to the scene, Rarares contemporary art gallery is already making waves with a distinctive vision: to integrate fine art into everyday life while championing rare talents.
Founded by Marina Baisel, a creative force with a background in interior design and art, Rarares seeks to redefine how art is perceived, experienced, and collected.
The name “Rarares” stems from the Latin word rarus, meaning rarity—a fitting descriptor for the gallery’s curatorial approach. Nestled in Dubai’s Financial District, the space offers an immersive and intimate environment where visitors can engage with artworks that challenge, inspire, and transform.
Rarares bridges a gap in Dubai’s evolving art ecosystem, positioned between commercially driven galleries featuring renowned artists and smaller spaces dedicated to regional talent. Baisel’s approach is different: she envisions a space that brings together international and emerging artists, fostering a dialogue between diverse artistic voices.
More than just a gallery, Rarares is a fluid space where each exhibition transforms the setting, creating new narratives and atmospheres. The 100 m2 venue is designed as an inviting and thought-provoking environment for collectors, art professionals, and newcomers alike.
“My goal is to showcase art that inspires people to do good, motivates them toward greater accomplishments, and fosters a sense of purpose and possibility,” Baisel explains.

Since its opening in 2024, Rarares has embarked on an ambitious program of exhibitions that push artistic bousaries. Following Eidos by Mederic Turay, which concluded at the end of March, Digital Space: Where Art Meets Craft by Yuksel Dal and the group exhibition Powerful Spring, which celebrates women artists and their role in the contemporary art scene, are scheduled.
Later in the year, Rarares will also present Solid Fragility, a solo exhibition by Danish-Swedish artist Maria Bang Espersen, known for her innovative work with glass.
With its thoughtful curation, commitment to artistic diversity, and international reach, Rarares is poised to become a vital player in Dubai’s cultural landscape. Through its exhibitions and participation in global events, the gallery not only offers collectors fresh perspectives but also nurtures a deeper appreciation for fine art in everyday life.
Beyond its Dubai base, Rarares debuted this year at Art Central Fair 2025, one of the most anticipated events of Hong Kong Art Week. At the fair, the gallery presented works by Mathias Masarati Hagen, Marina Baisel, Maria Bang Espersen and other artists, reinforcing its commitment to promoting diverse artistic perspectives.
