MIPIM is the world’s leading property market, with 2016 edition to be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Running from 15th to 18th March, it is a key opportunity for global leaders in all property market sectors to meet, exchange ideas and forge new contacts. 

The event includes the presentation of the MIPIM Awards, which will be selected from 230 projects, both completed and planned, from 42 countries. This year includes the new “Best healthcare development” category plus the 10 categories from the previous edition: best hotel and tourism resort, best industrial and logistics development, best innovative green building, best office and business development, best refurbished building, best residential development, best shopping centre, best urban regeneration project, best futura project and best futura mega project. 

The 11 members of the international MIPIM Awards jury, headed by Barbara A. Knoflach (Deputy Chief Executive & Global Head of Investment Management at BNP Paribas Real Estate), include representatives from global property markets. The jury has shortlisted 44 projects, 4 in each category. The winners will then be selected by the jury and event attendees, who will be asked to express their preference during the actual event. 

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 17th March at 6.30 PM in the main auditorium at the Palais des Festivals. A “People’s Choice Award” will be presented for the fifth straight year to the project that gets the most online votes through the official site and Facebook page of the event.
